Easy does it

on:Nothing can be much easier than knitting round and round and coming out with the great stripes and fun rolled brim of this beanie. Okay, I’ll admit it, when it gets to the top and those double-pointed needles it becomes a bit more challenging! I’ve learned over the years, though, that practice makes even those decreases easier. I usually work in 100% cotton for summer- weight hats but I loved the blend of colors in this “microfiber” yarn and so have the customers. It is also super soft for that newborn skin.
Bigger is better

on:I learned early on that when it comes to flowers on hats for baby girls, big is in. In fact, flowers as big as the hat or bigger than headbands themselves draw rave reviews. I kept the hat simple this time around to showcase the beautiful orchid color of the yarn, added a little white trim and a big, big flower with decorative edging. It flew off the table and I’ve made several others since for those who simply need their flowers BIG!
